Viral Transport Medium (VTM) is a special medium used to transport virus samples from a specimen. Specimens can be in forms of clinical part samples of human body such as the nasopharynx and oropharynx using swab.
VTM has a main function which is to prevent damage to the morphological structure and genetic material of the virus before arriving at the laboratory for analysis.
